2001 SENIOR PROJECT

Walkathon

The Class of 2001 selected a walkathon as their Senior Project, and asked participants to bring food items for the Helping Hand food pantry. Over 100 individual walkers participated, along with 15 teams, including teams from the classes of 1954, 1955, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1972, 1973, 1979, and 1980. The top participant was cross country coach Don Baun, who ran or walked a total of 46 ½ miles during the course of the event.

The Class of 2001 raised $2,863 to benefit the L-P Schools, and collected 36 boxes of food for the Helping Hand food pantry.  The Class of 2001 thanked the many businesses that made donations, including Arnholt's Clothing, BFI Waste Services, Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home, Creative Outlet, DJ's Citgo, Farmers and Savings Bank, Loudonville Chamber of Commerce, Loudonville Fire Department, McClain's Appliance Center, McElwain Accounting Services, Mohican Convention and Visitors Bureau, Real Estate Showcase, Rhoads Jeweler, and Taco Bell.
